It is a 20 minute trip from the airport to the centre of Christchurch and from there about 20 minutes to  most of the tourist areas such as Brighton Beach, Ferrymead, Sumner, the Gondola, while a leisurely stroll or trip on the tram will get you out for a punt on the Avon, free entry to the museum, Arts and Crafts centre , Regent Street shopping area or see how your luck is at the Casino.
