The combination of time spent on the water along with stunning scenery and wildlife make for a memorable experience.

Fishing in Akaroa is all year round. The best catching times in summer are early morning or twilight, while in winter it is throughout the day.

Summer weather traditionally means that seldom are there two consecutive days when you are unable to get out, so we advise you to stay over to maximise your potential fishing time.

During the winter, the weather can be more dramatic, but often provides some of the best fishing weather and catches.

We bottom-fish for blue cod, red cod, trumpeter, sea perch, terakihi, gurnard and kahawai. Catches of salmon, shark and king fish have been made on occasion.

Rods, tackle and bait supplied.

Dive Charters

Scuba dive for crayfish, moki and butterfish, or snorkel for paua.

You are required to supply your own gear.

You can join an existing fishing trip or get some friends together to book the boat. Trips take 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
